Hi The reason why I posted the question twice was because your reply never made it to my inbox for some reason. I only found it through looking at the list archives. Meanwile, I followed your advice and used DrawTiled to draw directly to the screen, and it works on ver1.4, which means SetRenderTarget is at fault here. I will post the bug report and try to investigate more. and by the way, a magical make things work flag is not a bad idea at all.

Instead of guessing what could be the issue why not systematically investigate it? I described how to find out whether it's DrawTiled() or the render target stuff.
