Now is the time for all good folks to come to the aid of the party....

Canterbury Software Inc is having its AGM on Friday 15 August (Cii, 4pm),
and will be asking y'all to recognise the benefits of helping to support
the sorts of things we've been dong for the local IT industry over the
past year.

CSI membership is still just $50 for the 2003/2004 year, which has to be
the best value-for-money professional sub you'll ever pay.

Here's 10 Good Reasons to Spend $50 on CSI Membership:

(1) discounted or free access to practical workshops that give useful
advice and real case studies from people who have been at the bleeding
edge (non-member surcharges will apply from September)

(2) access to the experience of others so you can readily learn from
successes (and mistakes!), as well as IT-targeted mentoring services and
networking events

(3) increased local, national and international profile through the CSI
Member Files highlights on the CSI Website, hyperLINK articles and CSI
media campaigns on behalf of members

(4) extended listings for CSI members in the online Directory ( from
September, non-member listings will show name and contact details only; if
you're a member and haven't put your details on the Directory yet, go do
it now!)

(5) practical help with client presentations, elevator pitches and
networking at the monthly CSI Elevator Cafe (free for all to attend, but
CSI membership required for presenters from September)

(6) effective, efficient job-hunting and staff-seeking via the CSI jobs
listing and RealContacts jobs service

(7) direct contacts and up-to-date information on funding, research and
business assistance specifically designed for our sector (the CSI Website
Resource section has information areas for members only)

(8) helpful, informative postings on the email forum for fast problem
solving, sharing of information, invitations to industry-relevant events

(9) the opportunity to influence government and other relevant bodies
through a united ICT voice for Canterbury, and to participate in CSI-
organised "trade missions" to lobby Wellington in areas of concern to our
industry and region

(10) reduced costs for CSI members to access business opportunities such
as CSI-negotiated discounts for e-tendering and professional association
contacts

(11) members have free use of the CSI banner, brochure stand and other
supportive marketing material and advice

(12) members get a snazzy stylish pin for your suit lapel (yes, it works
on T-shirts too :-) and a nice certificate for the wall

But wait, there's more...but I'm sure you get the drift by now...$50 is
really a token payment but it's important to demonstrate your support.

If you want to be a part of this, then join up now. There's an easy form
at:

And come along to the AGM (Friday 15 August, Cii, 4pm). The BBQ afterwards
offers a great chance to bend the ear of the leadership team and let us
know what else you want for your $50 (we'd be delighted to hear
suggestions -- keep 'em practical!).

Any questions? Ask James Saruchera, the CSI Facilitator (he can check your
current membership status, for example). Email him at:

It'll be the best-value $50 you've ever spent.

See you at the AGM,
Vicki Hyde
for Canterbury Software Inc leadership team
