To give you a boost while slaving over a hot computer (and slow email for
some!) on such a sunny day:

According to Trade and Enterprise, the IT and electronics industry in
Canterbury is 30 percent larger than in Auckland (ha, knew it!), and the
productivity of $200,000 per employee compares with a national average of
$60,000.

Combined revenue for 100 IT and electronics industries in the region
totalled $792 million for 2002-2003 (software accounted for 22 percent);
export earnings were $481 million and 3400 staff were employed.

The Herald covered this story (anyone see anything in the Press?) at:

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/storydisplay.cfm?storyID=3527393&thesection=busi
ne ss&thesubsection=technology&thesecondsubsection=information

And you can see the NZTE report at:

Aren't we great! :-)

Cheers,
Vicki Hyde
