Hi folks, CSI has an international software maketing workshop scheduled for next week (Cii, 2-5 Wed Dec 3). It's looking very solid and practical, with plenty of case studies and examples of what to do or not to do. (more info here: http://www.canterburysoftware.org.nz/csiworkshop.htm )
I've noticed a distinct improvement in my sourcing of ideas, marketing approaches and even strategic thinking as a result of the CSI workshops this year. Got a plan of attack for product re-positioning and even an idea of how to go about it. One of the things we are looking at is seeing if we can get a focus group (OK, call it a special interest group if you really want the TLA :-) together of people looking to market internationally via downloadable software. The idea would be to get together to share ideas, resources, contacts, co-marketing, anything that would give us each a better chance of success. Maybe find someone that's been through the mill already who can tell us what works (and what doesn't!). I've talked with a couple of CSI members alerady about this -- if anyone else is out there and would be interested in a concentrated cluster clump (!), give me a call (384-5137) or drop me a line (remember to reply direct to me if you don't want to broadcast to the csforum community). Now's a good time to take a breather, look at plans for next year, try out a workshop if you haven't already, and look forward to an even more prosperous 2004. (And thanks to everyone for the advice and general software buzz this year too!)
