Clusterlites,
Tim Harrison
from Bright Futures (FRST) advises the following information for those people
who are thinking of applying for funding for a joint business/academic research
venture.
The message
here is to get your paperwork done quickly because the next closing date is not
too far away. If you are having trouble identifying whether your project is
acceptable or filling in the paperwork, then give Tim Harrison a bell and ask
him to help. He is on our side trying to make it easier for us to utilise this
funding and as you can see, has made considerable progress.
Cheers
Keith
We have achieved significant changes in the
conditions of the Bright Futures Enterprise Scholarship scheme,
including:
* relaxation of the B+ academic grade, to approx B-
* student doesn't have to
be identified at the time of application (6 months to find a
student)
* part-time registration possible
* relaxation of the minimum research component (to
20%)
* longer time limit allowed between course
commencement and scholarship application
* more closing dates during year (3 or
4)
* being a bit more creative with the "govt"
organisations access
* allowed to supplement income (including more than one scholarship)
* modified assessment criteria.
Hopefully this scheme will better fit your needs and provide greater
opportunities for students.
There will be a closing date on 21 August, which is not too far away.
It is intended that this round will try out some of the changes and
format. There are still some changes to be made to the admin side,
therefore the application process is restricted to paper-based only (no on-line
version yet).
Here is a link to download the new version , as
either Word or Adobe documents:
I am keen to discuss how you will be able to access this scheme, so please
call/email me. Dr Tim Harrison
