The issue of open source is an issue that faces software developers in
Canterbury and for some of us who have considered the issue we do not
necessarily come to the same conclusion as David.
This forum should be used for exposing members to alternative views and
David and the open source people have done that. To then ask for discussion
to stop suggesting that it is not the appropriate forum for debate and at
the same time reinforcing the position of one side of the issue seems to me
a little unreasonable.
I agree that this is not the right platform for promoting an approach to the
government which has not first been widely debated by this community but it
has happened. When does this community debate it?
