Hmmm. I must have read the email a little differently myself,
because I didn't view it as promoting one side of the issue.
Regardless, I do agree with its main thrust, and yours, which was
that a more appropriate forum exists for continuing this discussion.
It's not that the NZ software community won't find discussion of this
issue fruitful, just that CSforum itself is probably not an ideal place
for that discussion, particularly given that a better tailor-made forum
exists.
Therefore, speaking for a moment as gentle moderator, I'd prefer
future comments on this matter to be raised there rather than here.
Alas, I don't have David's email to hand with the other list's
name/location, but this list's searchable archive (see email footer)
should have a copy of his email by Thursday morning.
