Ah ? this *should* be fixed.

Interestingly, it isn?t for you.

Ok, so you do want to update your gcc version to the newest stuff because
libstdc++ and other things require an up to date glibc and some many years back
they bundled glibc in with gcc.

Anyway, do a yum install gcc if you don?t have gcc already loaded or do a yum
update gcc if you do and give steam.sh a shot afterwords.

Red Hat Enterprise 5. Error is as follows :

[root at games1 steam2]# STEAMEXE=steamcmd ./steam.sh

/usr/local/games/steam2/linux32/steamcmd: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version
`GLIBCXX_3.4.10' not found (required by
/usr/local/games/steam2/linux32/steamcmd)

/usr/local/games/steam2/linux32/steamcmd: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version
`GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by /usr/local/games/steam2/linux32/steamcmd)

/usr/local/games/steam2/linux32/steamcmd: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version
`CXXABI_1.3.1' not found (required by /usr/local/games/steam2/linux32/steamcmd)

/usr/local/games/steam2/linux32/steamcmd: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version
`GLIBCXX_3.4.5' not found (required by /usr/local/games/steam2/linux32/steamcmd)

When I download the libstdc++.so.6 that somebody placed in a link before, in
the same dir, I get.

/usr/local/games/steamcsgo/linux32/steamcmd: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version
`GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by libstdc++.so.6)

So, anybody has successfully set up a server in Red Hat Enterprise ? I've tried
with hundreds of combinations with libraries, patches, etc. and it just doesn't
work. Updating is not an option.

Additionally somebody from the developers, could you say what flavor of Linux
was used in the compilation please ? J
