Centos is based on red hat isnt it. Then the libstdc version that was used for centos should work for u as well. give it a try

Ok, so you do want to update your gcc version to the newest stuff because libstdc++ and other things require an up to date glibc and some many years back they bundled glibc in with gcc. ? Anyway, do a yum install gcc? if you don?t have gcc already loaded or do a yum update gcc if you do and give steam.sh a shot afterwords. ?
