Does the autoupdate work on Windows?
Quoting Andre Müller <[email protected]>:

I've made my own little Scrip and do some adjustments for Teklabuser
(I hate Teklab!).
One is a shell script, the other is written in python which includes
the version checking over the steamapi.

The shellscript:

Sorry, it's only in german. Maybe i can it translate later. At the
moment there are some questions I've to find out.
Where does the steamcmd stores files for caching? Are the files stored
directly into the serverbasedir or is steamcmd using the some folders
for chaching in the installpath of steamcmd?
I think its better to for Teklabusers to pack the steamcmd-tool into
the serverbasedir. Then you don't have any problems with write access.
The loginfile can be stored on a path outside of the customer home
directory.

I disabled steamguard on all the accounts used by the servers...

I have another weird problem with the autoupdate function and SteamCMD in
general.
Every once in a while I have to login using a SteamGuard code.
The SteamGuard code wasn't supposed to be required only once?
For some reason I couldn't get the latest update because SteamCMD couldn't
login to my Steam account without a SteamGuard code.

worked fine for me...

make sure each server is running a different steam user.... if they are all
running the same user it will keep failing as a user can login to steam only
from one place a time...

if all servers are restarting and updating at the same time they will all
fail (or in the best case just one will go ok)

So I've had the autoupdate commands added to my launch options since the
last
update, and in the light of the latest server update today, all my servers
are launching then crashing. What am I missing?

Launch options: -autoupdate -steam_dir /srv/steam -steamcmd_script
csgo-update.txt
(csgo-update.txt is located in /srv/steam/)

Content of csgo-update.txt:
login xxx xxx
force_install_dir ../csgo_ds/
app_update 740 validate
quit

Log:
...
VAC secure mode is activated.

Does the autoupdate launch option work for anyone else?
