This is definitely quite oppisite i have experienced. It used to be like this but nowdays srcds is somewhat multithreaded and forcing for example TF2 server to one core will only cause issues. It will spawn multiple processes while it runs and it will cause lagspikes once they take a bit more on certain maps than others or peak times.

Having them loose and letting system scheduler to set the tasks into cores automatically is the best solution.

Its always best to give 1 server 1 core. I don’t believe srcds handles multi-core well or at all. Not sure about that. But in a server world its always good practice to run 1 program/server on 1 core. I run ESXi and have 8x2.3ghz and 16gb. I run 8 servers in total on the host and have no issues out of my csgo servers. Each has 2 gb.

Hope this info will help.

You need at least a 3.3GHz processor to keep 128 tick happy.

    Hello,

does anyone have some solid information on the system requirements
for running Linux servers? Like: How many Slots/Servers per Core.
To be a little bit more specific:

How many 10 slot 128 tick servers could i run on a Intel Xeon
E3-1270v3 with 4x3.5 GHZ, 32gb memory .... running Ubuntu. By
"run" i mean running with a good performance.

    Regards
