Just throwing this out there, but could the space in there be affecting it?
For no password, it should be set to "" rather than " ", but perhaps CSGO does some processing on the passwords removing spaces or something. Sounds like you are trying to get it to stay set to an actual password though. I'd go through your configs again and make sure you don't have a blank password being set somewhere by one of the configs.
