I would definitely like to see some sort of clarification or confirmation from someone at Valve that this is an issue, or just a new "feature". While drops are definitely a perk of visiting a server, it should not be the basis of people playing on your server (aside from those idle servers or whatever). A successful server should be about good community, and having a unique and fun server.
