Yes, thats probably because someone else on the same IP is using it.
Valve is so "clever" that they simply don't bother and ban the whole IP
instead of IP:PORT. So currently i have 20 servers running on 1 IP, 3 of
them are using knife plugin, all 20 of them are banned. GREAT!

Just check it here, dont enter port, just IP. Even other Valve game
servers (cs1.6, tf2, gmod) are banned if they are on the same IP as GO
server with knife plugin.

Well clearly Valve don't have a system checking it either, they just
banned servers with "knife" in the tags.....
So atm you might just want to remove tags like that.

We're of course taking action to inform our clients about this and
have been actively removing these plugins from servers running with
us, but I think you don't fully appreciate how much work this is when
you're talking thousands of servers and users can upload plugins freely.

I mean, isn't it partially their responsibility to make sure their
clients not breaking rules?
But its a bit difficult for them to check hundreds of servers if they
running plugins that break the rules.
But informing clients via mail is very much possible.
