Welcome! You should know, though, that you started this thread
incorrectly -- you replied to an existing message instead of sending a new
message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] So, your message got threaded on
to the old thread, which messes up the archives and makes it less likely
that others will see your message and subsequently
reply to you. Just a word of warning for next time!
Thanks for the heads up - I must admit I was a bit lazy in finding the mail
address, so I thought I'd just start with a blank reply to one of the
previous messages. I didn't realise that the list software is clever enough
to pick that up!
Thanks to all who replied :)
The example that Chris Akers sent me off-list
(http://neb.net/nlog/2005/04/14/what-a-drop/) is going to work perfectly for
what I need, except that it's also gonna have to code some clever
JavaScripting to automatically pull the <li> values and put it in hidden
checkboxes or something to allow me to save the user's selection. Perhaps
I'll put the id's that I need to pass into the form, in the id attribute of
each <li>.
I'm thinking to put each ul in a div with a set width and height, and set
overflow-y to scroll, thus sort of imitating the behavior of the
multi-select. The size of the mock-up is going to be limited, so once there
is too much data in either column, it's going to need to scroll.
