Thanks a bundle to everyone =]

The screen shots provided by David Laasko all look good to me, there's a 
bit of a width issue on the product boxes in IE5.0 but it's still set 
out like a list so i'm going to treat that as 'acceptable' for now.

I can't believe i forgot about those site map and content links! the 
site map feature is disabled on the cms im working with...that is until 
i err, add it.... I think i'm just going to hide them from all browsers 
that use css and change site-map to a skip-to-navigation link for the 
time being.

I appreciate the design advice too David, I agree it doesn't look 
antiquey however the client looked at an initial design i made that 
featured deep red colours in the layout that he didn't like. As it was 
taking longer than it should have we eventually decided it should look 
like his existing business card... and there it is =]
