Don't know, but I've run into this problem myself - I just had to move
the comment...

Unless you're putting content in the .clearFloat div, I don't
understand its purpose.  Anyway, I have a suspicion that the green
leaking into the div underneath is actually IE rendering the
.clearFloat div with a bit of height - though, admittedly, I don't
know why it would do that and why it wouldn't affect the flow of the
following divs.  Try putting some arbitrary text in that div and see
where it ends up. ;-)
