... setting the font-size in relative units will help (IE visitors can't 
change px fixed sizes).
... and an alternative for the menu can be to use a list with a 1 image 
css rollover (as well for the horizontal as for the vertical menu):

Will save 26 small images > save 26 http-requests > save lots of 
download time too [1] :-)
