Hi,

I'm sure this is a common problem. I've seen quite a few similar posts
in the archives, but nothing that I recognised as being of direct help.
If I've missed something, please point me at the right place and I'll
bother you no more :0)

My basic problem is that I have a layout that works in every browser I
can lay my hands on across two operating systems, but doesn't work in
IE7 (so almost certainly not in IE6 either). An example of the problem
can be seen at:

The style sheet can be retrieved from:

http://www.peredur.uklinux.net/Amnesty/styles/default.css

For some reason, IE insists on pushing the ul that forms the sidebar
navigation links out about 10px to the right. And yes, I did pinch the
style from Sitepoint.

This is a non-work project (I do Web programming, but not Web designing,
so I know my way around, in a general sort of way without being all that
familiar with markup and style sheets) to translate a site. I really
want to get to grips with this CSS thing, if I can. This is the first
time I've really used them.

The site is under construction and not in its final resting place, so
there's only really this one page to look at, and the home page which
doesn't have a sidebar. The other pages, such as they are, are just
placeholders.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Regards

Peter
