The vast majority of the time the only browser that requires special rules and hacks is Internet Explorer. If you find yourself reaching for hacks to make things look consistent in other major browsers then their is likely to be a problem with how you've approached your markup or CSS. I know it can be frustrating, but hacking things this way and that is not the answer!
