Markus, We do use table layout (I call it back to the 90's HTML). We have been using table based emails for several years now and are moving to 'responsive(insert many definitions here!)' design. We have had fairly good success with these.

Are you aware of the fact that e-mail clients are currently not reliably able to render modern HTML and CSS correctly at all? Outlook versions 2007 and 2010 e.g. use the rendering engine of MS Word. If you want your HTML mail to look somehow as you expect there, you will have to do table layouts as we did in the 90es. Some browser based clients do not apply styles you put in a <style> element, so you will have to use inline styles, which makes media queries unuseable even if they would be supported in some e-mail clients. I personnally try to stay away from HTML e-mail jobs, as they are always a pain. If you really need to do it: - Keep it basic - Use a paid preview service that shows you the results of your code in a broad variety of e-mail clients HTH Markus This message contains information which may be confidential and privileged.
