I always use Netbeans for Swing GUI Development. Didn't know that IDEA offered GUI development in its IDE.
Just had a look at JFormDesigner's online demo, doesn't seem any better than Netbeans. Have you tried the latest version of Netbeans with Matisse GUI builder? It's pretty cool for people who come from a Delphi background (afraid of GridBagLayout). What does JFormDesigner have that Netbeans doesn't? Hi, A quick poll. Which IDEs do you guys use for rich client applications? - Eclipse - I feel VE still needs to mature way more, if you measure JFormDesigners alpha plugin's performance and productivity within eclipse. - JBuilder - nice, but I am sure I am going to pull my hair out 3 months down the line. - Netbeans, IDEA - not a favourite. - JFormDesigner - super. Which swing frameworks do you use? JGoodies? Do you extend the binding model? Or do you use it as is? How do you bind table data, where data is a response from a service. Do you guys feel that Ajax is a worthy replacement for a call center consultant interface? And if you use Ajax, do you roll your own component set? Do you prefer the opensource or commercial component sets? And which ones?
