Hi Curl, Remember me? Aselmo Mathebula? Well, i got certified as java programmer and Web component developer; but nothing has seriously come my way yet. Am busy with my own self proposed project just to show my knowledge, but am also thinking aloud: "doesn't your company want young skilled persons like me?".
Good day Curl. Mainly to give us confidence, whereas if you are looking for a Java job the programmer and either web developer or developer coupled with some tertiary qualification would be nice. Back to the web services exam, it does seem to cover quite a lot of low level plumbing and does not focus on JAX-WS 2 (which is kinda cool, well cool cos the JEE 5 framework handles a lot of the nitty gritty through annotations). >From my personal opinion, studying for the web component certification was >extremely useful seeing the amount of servlet/jsp code we write where I work. >And because it looks cute on my CV, it gives me more confidence Regards Carl On Dec 6, 2007 3:02 PM, evan summers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > It's seems companies refuse to offer you a position unless you have a > degree. Another tack you could try (altho i hate to say it) is to get certification in C#/.Net and apply in that area as well. > My question ultimately is, how worthy is a Sun Java Certification? definitely worth doing, i mean can't do any harm to your CV! If you are short on experience, certifications even more important, as surely it gives more confidence that you know the stuff. But i'm not an employer or recruitment specialist. You should speak to recruitment people - they the ones who know. e ----------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using Obsidian SWiTCH web-mail.
