BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: Working under the general direction of the
Children's Services Coordinator, this position manages the toddler portion
of the children's program, as well as planning programs for school aged
children
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Plans and administers age appropriate programs for children of all ages,
including toddler times, puppet shows, parties, and other programs for older
children.
Confers with Librarian Manager to determine appropriate requirements and
processes.
Performs weekly reference duties.
Assists in designing, administering, and statistically monitoring a Teen
Volunteer program and the summer reading program, including soliciting
prizes for the programs.
Represents and promotes the library at area schools, city functions, and
other related activities.
Organizes and updates story time packets and related computer indexes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* MLS from an accredited college or university, plus one (1) year of
professional programming experience with children preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Knowledge of client base, including child development.
* Knowledge of children's literature.
* Knowledge of Windows 95 and Microsoft Office 97 or greater.
* Must pass a drug-screening test.
