I am forwarding this from Christine McNew at the Texas State Library...

Amanda at CTLS

Dear All,

I received a phone call today from a librarian inquiring about uploading the
Texas Reading Club artwork onto the library web site and would like to take
a moment to explain the Acceptable Use of Texas Reading Club Artwork.

Libraries may upload the bookmark that is in the GIF file on the Texas State
Library web site at
http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/projects/trc/2001/artworkuse.html
<http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/projects/trc/2001/artworkuse.html> . Please
note that, as stated in the "Acceptable Use of Artwork" below, which is in
the 2002 Manual and on the TSLAC web site, libraries may not alter the GIF
file of the bookmark in any way, including removing the words "2001 Texas
Reading Club." If your library has changed the GIF file in any way, would
you please replace it with the unaltered bookmark? Also, if you have
scanned and uploaded the poster or clip art, I must regretfully tell you
that this is not allowed. Our contract with the reading club artist, Mark
Teague, does not permit this. If you have any of these on your web site,
would you please remove them?

Please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail if you have any questions.

Thank you so much!

commercial use.
Clip Art

t-shirts, and library decorations. Libraries may resize and reverse the clip
art, but may not alter it. Public libraries in Texas may use the art work to
create items that will be sold only if the proceeds are returned to the
