LATEST NEWS & IMAGES Our research databases provide the latest news stories and photographs from the world's top information sources. These resources are free and accessible to all students, educators and parents -- even if you are not currently a subscriber. 2. TRAGEDY & GRIEF LINKS As a nation, we've just begun to grieve and feel the full impact of the terrorist attacks. These feelings can't be hidden from children. To summarize the advice of experts, it's critical that you address their fears to help them feel secure. First, reassure students that they are safe and in no immediate danger. Stick to a normal daily routine, and try not to keep your television or radio on constantly. Children respond best to shocking news in print and will need your help to sort through the news reports. Finally, understand that it's fine to let children know that you're upset, but make it clear that you're not upset with them. Be as calm and understanding as you can and seek out a friend, counselor or family member to talk through your own anxiety. Our special page contains links to sites where you'll find helpful ways to continue discussing this tragedy with young people.
