Wednesday, February 13, 2002  the Dell Wired For Youth Centers at Oak Springs Branch of the Austin Public Library, 3101 Oak Springs Drive and Southeast Austin Community Branch of the Austin Public Library, 5803 Nuckols Crossing Road will host Austin native singer song-writer, Jaha . Jaha's  appearance at Oak Springs Branch will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a second performance from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at the Southeast Austin Community Branch. Jaha is new to the music scene with her current CD, "Young Journey" Young Journey is a progressive musical movement focusing on enhancing the development of today's youth. This focus is expressed through music reminiscent of yesterday's "Free To Be You And Me" by Marlo Thomas. The CD was recorded in Tennessee and Austin, Texas-where she used Austin kids to perform with her on the CD. Jaha's visits to the Wired for Youth Centers will allow the young people to meet the artist, learn about her musical journey and meet the kids who performed on the CD. Working with the kids, knowing we were all giving our best, was one of the best rewards I've received. Then, to know that children around the world will be able to hear positive and encouraging lyrics created especially for them, truly lights my heart." Jaha hopes Young Journey will encourage the music industry to make positive changes for the sake of our future and the future our children. Jaha currently lives in New York, but frequently visits family and friends in Austin.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. For additional information visit the APL Web site at www.cityofaustin.org/library <http://www.cityofaustin.org/library> or call  (512) 974-7400.
