Instructor: Tim Lambert, President, Texas Home School Coalition

Training Credit: Three Hours

Description:
This class will provide participants with general information about the home
school community and help them gain a basic understanding of the laws
regarding home schooling. The class will address the needs of both the
student and the parent and will provide helpful information to help library
systems better serve the home school community. There will also be ample
time for a question and answer session with presenter Tim Lambert, President
of the Texas Home School Coalition (the Texas Home School Coalition is a
state organization committed to serving and protecting the home school
community of Texas). Tim holds a BA in political science from Texas Tech
University.

Tim and his wife, Lyndsay, have four grown children and have lived in
Lubbock for almost 30 years. He and his wife taught their children at home
for sixteen years, beginning in 1984. That year, Tim helped organize South
Plains Christian Home Educators Association in Lubbock. In 1986, Tim began
to serve on the Advisory Board of the Texas Home School Coalition. In 1990,
Tim was asked to head up the Texas Home School Coalition (THSC). In that
capacity, he speaks to various groups around Texas, helps inform state
legislators and candidates about home education, and trains home school
leaders in public relations and political activity. He also publishes the
ALERT Newsletter and the Texas Home School Coalition Review magazine. Tim
is committed to serving the home school community and protecting parents'
right to choose the education of their children.

Class Notes:
Coffee and water will be made available. Participants are welcome to bring
their own drinks and snacks to the training sessions.
