If you've had a TIF grant, you'll soon receive a second survey from Bill Moen at UNT. Bill is working on two separate but related studies. One study is for the Library of Texas project of the State Library, and you should have recently submitted a ZLOT survey to determine the current state of technology in your library. (The deadline has been extended because of mail delivery delays, so please do submit it.) The other study is an assessment of our future needs, to help the TIF Library Working Group make recommendations to the TIF Board on future grants, some of which may be needed for libraries to realize the benefits of LOT. The needs survey was mailed yesterday to all libraries which have had a TIF grant. You can also download a Word or PDF copy of the survey at http://www.unt.edu/needz/Survey.htm; the deadline is May 27 -- but don't wait! Please submit the survey quickly. The State Library and the TIF Library Working Group need to know what our libraries have now and what they will need. The information you provide will be crucial to the future of LOT and TIF grants.
