Saturday, August 9, 2:00 p.m. Faulk Central Library 800 Guadalupe, 78701; (512) 974-7400 "Tales from Merrie England," featuring storyteller Bernadette Nason. Bernadette Nason is an actress/writer/comedienne/ storyteller. She has been performing in central Texas since 1993 but she has been telling stories since she was old enough to speak. Bernadette became committed to producing high quality storytelling shows when she saw that many parents had stopped telling their children bedtime stories. She also noticed that watching television and playing video games were hindering the development of children's own storytelling skills. She believes we need to keep literature alive through the power of live storytelling, encouraging audiences to tell the stories they hear. Her English accent is regularly heard on NPR's Sunday a.m. radio show "Sound Sight" and she is often seen on TV and in regional theatrical productions.
