[Sent "bcc" for your convenience.  Please join us on Wed., Sept. 10 at 10:00 a.m. or feel free to recruit a colleague to represent you.  As always, we welcome you to forward this invitation to others who may be interested in finding out how to establish GO Centers in high schools (or satellite GO Centers in libraries, WorkSource sites, public-housing centers, etc.)  Meeting location details are attached.]

Hello!

You're invited to the initial collaborative meeting about College for Texans Campaign "GO Centers" in the Central Texas area.  Find out how your high school (or a high school near you) may become a GO Center.*  GO Centers are a grassroots network of community-based college recruiting centers, operate as high school and college student-led centers with adult and higher education support; have physical facilities and computer connectivity linking them to on-line resources; are organizational hubs for college-going marketing and outreach efforts, serve as a local coordination point for resources supporting the College for Texans Campaign, facilitate and extend existing partnerships and develop new partnerships among K-12 schools, institutions of higher education, local Workforce Development Boards, businesses and other groups in the community.

Bonus!  You'll have an opportunity to meet local-area GO Center collaborative partners who are already establishing or helping support local-area GO Centers.

*A community with a GO Center in a local high school may also establish satellite GO Centers in libraries, WorkSource offices, public-housing centers, etc.
