Since Sharon is out of the office till next Tuesday, I thought I better post this grant opportunity since the due date is so soon. Amanda Subject: FW: Dollar General Community Grants for Literacy Dollar General's community grants program provides support for non-profit organizations committed to the advancement of literacy, dropout prevention and character education. They believe these three focus areas work together to address some of the greatest challenges and needs of students within their 27 state market area. Next application deadline: September 5, 2003. The literacy focus is for what Dollar General calls "Youth Literacy Initiatives". Funding preference will be given to programs that promote parental involvement, family literacy, or English as a second language instruction on an on-going basis versus a one-time event.
