How: Pre-Registration Fee: $55 adults, $40 children 6 to 15 years old
Late Registration (after 9/20/03): $65 adults, $50 children 6 to 15 years old
Paid adult must accompany children under 12.

The Greater Houston Puppetry Guild will present the Annual Houston Puppetry Festival on September 27th. Puppetry enthusiasts, librarians, teachers and anyone, including children from 6 years and up, are invited to register. Participants will be able to make puppets to take home. Workshop selections include "Creating Original Stories," "Emotions with Hand Puppets," "Make a Scarf Marionette," "Painting Puppets and Scenery," "Make Spongee Puppets," 'Story Adaptation to Puppetry," "Shadow Puppets," "Puppet Fun with Video," "Make Spoon Puppets," and "Puppetry Kids Love."

The festival is open to the public and includes three public performances throughout the day. There will be a free marionette puppet performance of "Pinocchio" presented by Carranza Puppets from Houston, TX at 11 am. Calliope Puppets from New Orleans, LA will present "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" at 2:30 pm and Random Acts Puppet Theater from Austin, TX will present "American Tales" at 5:15 pm. Tickets for these two performances are $3.

There will be a Puppetry Store where participants can purchase puppets, books, and puppet supplies. The store will be open from 8:30 am to 3:45 pm.

The Greater Houston Puppetry Guild is an approved provider for the Texas State Board of Education Certification. Educators who register and attend will be able to earn 4 clock hours towards their certification.

A banquet will be held at 6:15 pm to conclude the activities for the festival. Price is $15 per person. The banquet is optional and is in addition to the registration fee.
