I want to be sure that everyone is aware of the Texas Library Association's Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los Libros mini-grants. As part of a grant from the Kellogg Foundation, TLA is working to expand participation in Dia celebrations by offering 30 mini-grants to start up or expand Dia celebrations in Texas. Eligible applicants are school (public and private) libraries and public libraries. Visit http://www.texasdia.org/ for the application and details. Forthcoming is a toolkit and other resources to help establish celebrations. Feel free to pass this on to others who might be interested. I am on the committee that established the grant guidelines but will not be scoring the grants, so I'd be happy to provide what assistance I can to anyone considering submitting an application.
