Meet one of the nation's leading experts on graphic novels and celebrate the publishing of the new book, Getting Graphic! Using Graphic Novels to Promote Literacy with Preteens and Teens. Michele Gorman, WIred for Youth librarian at Austin Public Library, will present a free program for teachers, librarians, and others interested in engaging reluctant readers with the comic book format utilized in graphic novels on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Yarborough Branch Library, 2200 Hancock Drive, Austin. Book sales and signing from 4:30 p.m. - 5:00; program 5:00-6:00 p.m.; sales and signing 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of Austin Public Library, proceeds from the sale of the book benefit the library.
