Book Leasing Programs?

I’m Jenny Ur, the new librarian in Brenham, fresh from South Carolina. I have a question that maybe y’all can help me with. At my old library in Anderson, SC, we had book leasing programs through both Baker & Taylor and McNaughton, and they worked well. I would like to start a book leasing program here in Brenham to supply more copies of bestsellers and fill in some holes in our popular mystery series. I’d like to know other CTLS librarians’ opinions/experiences/horror stories about renting books, if y’all don’t mind.
