Subject: Valentine book sale idea
This isn't new, but it sure has been successful for us. We sell "bundles of
love" books for a buck during February. The books come from our donations
and there is always an over abundance of romance novels. Most of them are
the Harlequin / Silhouette / historical romance type books. The stacks of
six books are tied with a red ribbon and are sold six for a dollar.
I'm including a copy of our press release in case you want to do a quick
sale at your library.
Give a Bundle of Love this Valentine's Day
The Clinton-Macomb Public Library Friends of the Library have a
special treat for book lovers this Valentine's Day. From now until February
14 the Friends will be selling six romance novels tied together with a red
ribbon for $1. These Bundles of Love are available at all Clinton-Macomb
Public Library locations.
This is the second year that the Friends have put together Bundles
of Love for Valentine's Day. The Friends organize used book sales through
the year and this year they have seen an overwhelming amount of romance
novels being donated. They had been sorting so many romance novels in
preparation for their May book sale that they decided it might be time to
revive the Bundles of Love program. "We had so many romance novels being
donated we thought it would be fun to bundle them up for Valentine's Day
gifts," said Jan Jones, chairperson of the Friends Used Book Sale Committee.
The Friends of the Clinton-Macomb Public Library us the money raised
through their fundraisers to support library events. The most recent event
sponsored by the Friends is the Music at Main concert series. These Sunday
afternoon concerts take place at 2 p.m. at the Main Library. Past
performers have included Irish band Blackthorn, the Great Lakes Chorus and
Light Metal Band. The next Music at Main concert will feature jazz band
High Society on Sunday, March 14 at 2 p.m. Bundles of Love are available at
all Clinton-Macomb Public Library locations. The Clinton-Macomb Public
Library is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 9 a.m.-6
p.m. Sunday service is available from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Main Library
only.
