via the TexShare Program.

This, the 62nd edition of the Texas Almanac, contains updated information on
the history, culture, demographics, political climate, business climate,
elections, education, and environment of the great state of Texas.

Special features in the 2004--2005 edition include:

--- a history of the Franciscan missionaries who were early immigrants to
the Texas area before formal missions were established

--- the story of Fort Anahuac, established on the Gulf Coast in 1830 when
Texas was still part of Mexico and which played a part in the Texas
Revolution

--- a history of the frontier forts of Texas, which were built shortly after
Texas joined the Union in 1845 to protect settlers pushing west
