Subject: [syscon-tx] rural aging forums

        Dear Texas public libraries:

        Aging Well in Rural Texas
        The United Ways of Texas and the Texas Department on Aging have
teamed up to host
        a series of 6 forums throughout rural Texas in 2004. The forums
focus on gathering and
        communicating information and ideas that help older Texans age well
and communities
        prepare for an aging population. The forums will:
        . bring together the general public, local officials, and service
providers to discuss
        the unique issues faced by rural older Texans;
        . identify the needs and concerns of older Texans in rural
communities; and
        . help individuals and families prepare for retirement and aging by
identifying local
        services, resources, and opportunities.
