FREE Workshop via satellite teleconference on Friday, September 24th --
Making Copyright Work for Your Library 

As part of the 2004-05 season of the College of DuPage teleconferences, the
Texas State Library reminds Texas library staff of the opportunity to
participate in "Making Copyright Work for your Library". This program will
be broadcast from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Central time on Friday, September
24th, 2004. 
ALL Texas library staff are invited to view this program free of charge at
participating host sites in Texas. Please note that there are no
pre-requisites of any kind for these workshops -- no special technical
skills are needed.

College of DuPage / American Library Association Teleconference 
September 24th, 2004, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Central Time

OVERVIEW:
National teleconference with an in-depth look at copyright issues facing
librarians and educators in the digital age. 
Sponsored by the American Library Association and the NILRC: Network of
Illinois Learning Resources in Community Colleges. 

PRESENTERS:
*       Carrie Russell, Copyright Specialist, ALA Washington Office 
*       Kenneth Crews, Professor, Indiana University School of Law 
*       Edward Valauskas, Follett Chair in Library and Information Science,
Dominican University. 

HOST: 
John W. Berry, NILRC Executive Director and past president of ALA, will lead
an audience of librarians and teachers to ask the kind of questions to give
you the information you need to understand complex copyright and
intellectual property issues in your library or institution. This program
promises to be both challenging and thoughtful. These  library experts will
share their thoughts and projections for the future of copyright in the
digital age. You'll have a chance, either by phone, FAX, or e-mail, to ask
the presenters questions and give them your feedback.

REGISTRATION AND HOST SITE LOCATION INFORMATION:
Participants are asked to visit the TSLAC Webpage for this teleconference
(see the URL below), view the list of participating host sites, decide which
host site they would like to attend, notify the site coordinator at that
host site of their plans to attend NO LATER than 24 hours prior to the event
and then sign-in at the host site on the day of the event.
