Great Program!

OCTOBER 19, 9:00 am to 3:30 p.m., Austin Community College

The Accidental Fundraiser is a free seminar for individuals newly appointed with fundraising duties, not for the seasoned fundraising professional. Before you begin your journey into raising funds for your program or organization, make sure you know the way. Take some time to understand the reason for the voyage, how to get there (grant writing, special events and sponsorship, individual gifts or corporate solicitation), and who goes along for the ride.

Details:

10/19/04 - (9:00 am - 3:30 pm) - The Accidental Fundraiser: Packing for the Trip presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Austin Chapter and the ACC CCBNO (.6 CEU)

Presented by The Greater Austin Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Austin Community College (ACC) Center for Community-Based and Nonprofit Organizations

No Cost, (lunch on your own) at ACC Highland Business Center

Your trek will begin with a three-hour overview session presented by Marion T. Lee of Bacon Lee & Associates, a San Antonio-based consulting firm advising nonprofit organizations in fund development, board training and long-range planning.  Ms. Lee will explain the development process, help you identify your fellow travelers and discuss how fundraising supports the organization’s other activities.

Following the overview, two more in-depth sessions on different topics will help you chart your chosen route. Your guides are:

Jeff Cohen, Principal, Cohen & Associate:  Grant Writing

Stacy Ehrlich, CFRE, Principal, Seeds for Change Consulting:  Individual Gifts

Whether you are an executive director, program officer, volunteer coordinator or other nonprofit staff new to fundraising, The Accidental Fundraiser is your map to understanding fundraising.
