Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving.
I would like to inform you of 4 stipends that the Public Library Division has available for qualified individuals working in a public library at attend TLA's Annual Conference.  The application is on TLA's web site.

The stipends are available for public library employees without a Masters Degree in Library Science or its equivalent and who have not attended a TLA Conference before. The purpose of these stipends is to encourage membership and participation in TLA and PLD. Recipients will gain insight into the Public Libraries Division organization by volunteering during the conference.

REQUIREMENTS

The following are the basic requirements of a person applying for a stipend:

1.Must be employed in a public library and without a Masters Degree in Library Science or its equivalent.
2.Must agree to supply part of the stipend to membership in TLA, if not already a member.
3.Must be a first-time attendee to a TLA Conference.  Previous TLA exhibits only attendance does not exclude someone applying for a scholarship.
4.Must agree to attend and to be recognized at PLD’s annual business meeting at TLA.
5.Must agree to work four hours as a volunteer during the Conference.
6.Must agree to submit a report and evaluation of the Conference telling whether it fulfilled your expectations and what, if anything, you learned that you will be able to use in your library.  This report must be written and submitted to PLD Scholarship Committee Chair within 30 days of the Conference.
7.Must agree to attend 3 programs during the TLA Conference.
