Greetings,

As you may already know, the annual Texas Library Association conference
will take place April 5-8, 2005 in Austin. This is the first time in almost
40 years that the state capital will host the conference, and we want it to
be the best conference anyone has ever seen! The theme of the conference is
"New Realities-New Directions."

One of the more than 300 programs and events is the Children's Round Table
(CRT) Breakfast, which will take place on the morning of April 8, 2005. The
keynote speakers for the breakfast are Sarah Stewart and David Small, the
author and illustrator of The Gardener and The Library. To make this a
successful event, we will need your help.

Thirty to forty volunteers are needed to set up tables, take tickets, and
serve as hosts and hostesses. Although you will need to purchase your own
ticket for the meal, volunteers will have special reserved seating to hear
the speakers. This is an excellent opportunity to attend a great TLA
program!

If you would like to volunteer at the CRT Breakfast, please obtain
supervisory approval and contact me by January 31, 2005 with the following
information: your name, institutional affiliation, email address, and phone
number. My phone number is 512-926-8669 and my email address is
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

See you at Conference!

Sincerely,

Kerry Rake
CRT Meals Committee

Note: Degreed librarians that volunteer to assist must also register for the
conference; however, paraprofessionals and support staff will receive a
complimentary exhibits-only pass with four hours of volunteer service.
