Here's a tip from Myra Arredondo at the Texas State Library. "Libraries matter" offers a means to raise funds for your library by selling wristbands. Libraries matter was launched by Alliance Library System in Illinois. They are recruiting libraries who wish to have some fun, gain visibility, and raise funds. The primary goal of the campaign is to focus donors' attention on the specific causes of libraries, giving them the opportunity to select the cause their gift will help. Individual wristband proceeds go to local libraries, as do any proceeds for their causes. Additionally, libraries may post their need or cause on the "Libraries matter" website.
