When the current Bastrop library was built we used the wall plaques
holding a series of brass tags honoring donors. Though hardly a unique
concept, it's attractive and flexible as donors can be added anytime.

That said, I also like the etched bricks concept used by UT and the Alamo,
among others - attractive and enduring. Bricks at the Alamo were $100 for
a standard size, more for a bigger bigger brick. (Don't know what they
asked for those; Lisa and I are library people, with a "small brick"
budget.)

Those were walkway bricks but I suppose you could even do the same thing
for a building wall, with donors' name. Might be kinda cool.

Finally, the city built a park/walkway with round brass 'mile marker'
plates naming donors at points along the way. Gave a nice look, though
those were kinda pricey.

Don't know vendors of these but could probably find out for anyone
interested.
