I think I might be the librarian interested in a blog.  My teens and pre-teens love to stay on the computers and love to instant message each other(even if they are sitting side by side).  I am trying to get more feedback from this group and I know they love to know what others their age are reading.  They don't want to write a short review to post on a bulletin board(we tried that) not even a comment.  I am hoping to combine their love of using computers to communicate with comments that other teens and preteens could read.  At this time and with my current technology I may try having them send comments to a special email account and post comments on our webpage for them to read.  I am also checking on blogs.  There is an article in the February 2006 issur of School Library Journal on Blogging.  If any of you have any experience with this I would appreciate comments.

Thanks,
Theresa Strickler

Are any of you doing a library blog? One of our member librarians thinks it would be an interesting idea to allow community members to comment on books they’ve read (anonymously, of course). We’ve looked at library blogs on the web, and some are for specific types of libraries while others are rather edgy for a small Texas community.

One of them in another state is specifically for kids to share ideas of books they’re reading.

Please post your comments to the list. J

Thanks!

Laurie
