Austin Public Library Webmaster Carlos Lowry fixed the problem with our ‘change personal information’ web form. Making changes on this page in your ILLiad account will no longer change your library code to Austin thereby changing your ship to address in ILLiad.

I have tested this access twice now and everything stays the same on the area library record.

Also, Nancy Rooks updated your personal information on your ILLiad accounts to reflect the current CTLS Directory. If you have a new address since the directory went out you can make the change on your personal information page in ILLiad.

HELLO ILLers in Central Texas!

In my latest communication to area libraries I discussed the ship to problem.

Sue Bennett at the State Library forwarded our problem, regarding migration of library location information in the ILLiad software from your address to Austin Public Library’s address, to OCLC who sent the problem up to Atlas, the developer of the software.

The solution Atlas sent us resides in the ILLiad web form for user information. Without a detailed explanation of the HTML source code, the bottom line is when an area library goes to their user information form in their account in ILLiad and makes a change to your library information in the form, say your phone number or email address or your address, the information is changed correctly, but the code for who you are changes back to TXG. In turn, your ship to address changes to Austin. We need to change the HTML source code on that page so that this does not happen.

Carlos and I decided to work on this problem tomorrow morning. I am asking all area libraries to not make changes to their personal information in their ILLiad account until we have made the changes and tested them. I will send out another email to let you know when we are finished and it is safe to make changes to your personal information.

Again, the problem only occurs when you go to your personal information in your account and make changes to it. After the changes are made the new information is stored correctly, but the code we use for your library changes from say “DIME” for Dimebox to “TXG” for Austin. When this happens it tells the ILLiad system to input Austin’s address for your ship to address.

So please do not make changes to your personal information page until further notice.
