Subject: [atrt] Call for Topics and Presenters for NetFair

Net Fair was extremely popular at the last conference, with very timely and
relevant topics that were ebtter attended than ever before. We'd like to
build on this success and identify other topics and speakers of high
interest. Please contact me if you would like to suggest a topic or a
speaker (including yourself).

Some of the topics suggested (but we are still looking for speakers for
these) are:

- Using technology to compete with google (or alternately, leveraging google
to improve library services - if you can't beat them, join them).
-Information security and identify management -Open Source - doing IT for
free -Innovations with Newsfeeds and RSS -Visual Search engines and finding
media files on the web -Technology legislation: what librarians need to know
-Quality of e-info - validating info in whatever format -RDA vs MARC:
-Personal technology - blogs, PDAs, portals, etc.
-Internet 2: what it can do for you
-Intellectual Property and the Internet
-Filtering software: should we or shouldn't we?
-Web Site Usability and Accessibility

With a little work, we can have a solid preliminary proogram by Annual
Assembly. Thanks for helping to make Net Fair a success,

Wendi
Chair, ATRT
