FIRST AID FOR AILING PERSONAL COMPUTERS
Both staff and public access workstations are subject to a wide range of
mishaps, injuries, and illnesses. Learn how to cure common PC ailments and
keep your workstation in good health with this fun and informative workshop
designed to make you a real workstation lifesaver.
 
OBJECTIVES
By attending the workshop, participants will learn to identify and resolve
common problems in computer workstations, including: 
* Failure to start up 
* Freezing up while shutting down 
* Viruses, worms, trojan horses, and other assaults 
* Corrupted and scattered files 
* Error messages 
* Issues with monitors and printers 
* Problems with installing and upgrading software 
* Problems with installing and upgrading hardware, including memory 
* Problems from neglect of cleaning, maintenance, and updates 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? 
* This grant-funded training is limited to public library employees. 
* The training is intended for public library staff who must cope with
problems in their public and staff computers, especially for those who have
little or no technical support.
