Do you feel that you are
knowledgeable about distance learning as it relates to you, your library, your
staff and your patrons? Do you know where to find out about distance learning
opportunities already available to library staff?
The Texas State Library is pleased
to announce the Fall 2006 offering of the following online course: "LD101:
Introduction to Distance Learning".
This course is intended to provide
Texas library staff with a basic understanding of distance learning so that
they are better able to identify, utilize and benefit from continuing and
higher education opportunities that are available to them via distance. Those
who intend to take advantage of future distance learning opportunities are
highly encouraged to take this course.
Format:
This course is an online, self-paced
course. Participants may complete the course at their own pace but all
coursework *must* be completed within 30 days of enrollment. This course will
be available online until December 22, 2006.
Grading / CE Credit:
Participants who make a grade of 70%
or higher in this course are eligible to receive eight (8) hours of TSLAC
continuing education credit or eight (8) hours of SBEC Continuing Education
credit for school librarians (SBEC provider identification #500799).
